INDIA bloc MPs are set to stage a bigger protest on the ground on Thursday (October 8, 2026) against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, Opposition leaders said on Wednesday (October 7, 2026), after they were stopped from reaching Jantar Mantar during a coordinated mobilisation involving the members of Parliament of several parties. Leaders said more MPs would join the agitation.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and student organisations on Wednesday (October 7, 2026) called for a united mobilisation against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar ahead of their October 10 protest, saying the agitation will continue until the electoral system is overhauled.
