The Chicago Marathon 2026 is set to take place this Sunday, October 11, with more than 55,000 runners expected to take on the 26.2-mile course through the city. The 48th edition of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon will start and finish in Grant Park, with defending champions Jacob Kiplimo and Hawi Feysa among the leading names in the field.

When Is Chicago Marathon 2026?

The Chicago Marathon 2026 date is Sunday, October 11. Grant Park opens to runners at 5:30 a.m., while the professional wheelchair races begin at 7:20 a.m. The elite men’s and women’s race starts at 7:30 a.m. CT, followed by the High Performance Program at 7:32 a.m.

The three mass-participation waves begin at 7:35 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. respectively. Participants have a six-hour, 30-minute time limit to complete the marathon.
