KATHMANDU: The death toll from the deadly avalanche at Himlung Himal in Manang’s Nar Phu region has reached 11 after rescue teams recovered four more bodies today.
A total of 16 expedition support staff—14 kitchen workers and two climbing guides—were initially reported missing after deep snow and debris buried the base camp on September 27.
The disaster struck while Nepali crew members were setting up base camp and fixing routes in preparation for the autumn climbing season.
