Delhi Protest Latest News: National Capital is in a state of high alert with regard to the upcoming protest call by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), All India Students’ Association (AISA), and others at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Organizers of this movement are calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar because of some discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls done by the Election Commission.

Arrangements are being made for handling a possibly massive gathering, as about 26,000 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel can be deployed in Delhi. Delhi Police has 15,000 police personnel ready for deployment, and further women paramilitary forces are also being mobilized.

These measures include strict scrutiny at borders of Delhi, monitoring of buses arriving and coming from neighboring states, imposition of curfew-like situation at 57 metro stations, and some rail services. Police has also refused the permit for demonstration by invoking prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
