East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan live updates: Samir Zeljkovic’s late first-half goal has given Mohun Bagan Super Giant a 1-0 lead at the break in the IFA Shield final at the Salt Lake Stadium on Thursday, October 8. The Mariners gradually grew into the contest after a sloppy opening and were rewarded just before half-time.

East Bengal FC started with greater intent and came close to opening the scoring in the sixth minute. A mistake from Mohun Bagan allowed East Bengal to launch a quick counter, with Edmund Lalrindika finding himself through on goal. However, Vishal Kaith came off his line and made himself big to deny the forward.
