The front portion of a multi-storeyed building in North East Delhi’s New Seemapuri collapsed around 3 p.m. on Wednesday (October 7, 2026).

As per officials, eight people have been rescued so far, including a three-year-old child. At least five more are feared trapped. North East District Magistrate Ajay Kumar said that the building collapse took place around 3:08 p.m. “We immediately intimated all relevant authorities, including the NDRF, DDMA, and MCD. Rescue operations are being carried out in collaboration with DFS and local police,” he added.
