By Gun Bahadur Roka, Gorkha (Sulikot), Sept. 30: Geologists have recommended the immediate relocation of Deval village in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha, which is at high risk of landslides due to continuous rainfall. The geologists concluded that all 83 households in the village should be relocated to a safer area.
According to local Birbal Ghale, the experts made the recommendation for the earliest possible relocation of the village while presenting a report prepared after a field study of Deval village to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
According to him, a team of geologists from Kathmandu had conducted a field study of Deval village, where 83 households are living, starting from June 11, 2026. At a programme organised by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) with the participation of locals of Deval village, the expert team presented the study report along with video footage showing the geographical condition of the village.
