By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct. 10: The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has decided to approve investment in two semi-reservoir hydropower projects with a total estimated cost of Rs. 21.17 billion.
The 68th meeting of the IBN, held on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, has decided to approve investment in the 58.9 MW Nar Khola semi-reservoir hydropower project, estimated to cost Rs. 10.75 billion, and the 46.72 MW Sani Bheri-3 semi-reservoir hydropower projects, estimated to cost Rs. 10.42 billion.
Similarly, the meeting decided to facilitate the Arun-3 Hydropower Project (900 MW) to begin commercial production by February 2028 and expedite the construction of the 900 MW Upper Karnali Hydropower Project in accordance with the provisions of the Project Development Agreement.
