KATHMANDU: The Government of Japan has provided DNA testing equipment and reagents to Nepal as additional emergency relief assistance to help identify victims of the devastating August 26 flash floods and landslides near the Nepal-China border.
The emergency relief supplies were provided at the request of the government and in view of the humanitarian needs arising from the disaster and the close relationship between Japan and Nepal. The supplies were formally handed over on October 8 at the Nepal Police Central Forensic Science Lab in a ceremony attended by representatives of both governments and JICA Nepal.
