Leaders and workers of the Janata Dal (Secular) in Hassan staged a protest on Wednesday against Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari, opposing the notices she issued to the Superintendent of Police and the office-bearers of the Pandal Ganapathi Celebration Committee for violating prohibitory orders.

The protesters raised slogans against the Deputy Commissioner and formed a human chain at N.R. Circle. They termed her action arbitrary and demanded that she withdraw the notices.
