Louise Goodman’s retirement has prompted an emotional response from the Formula 1 paddock, with Martin Brundle, Jenson Button and former colleague Steve Rider paying tribute to one of the most familiar faces in British motorsport broadcasting.
Goodman brought her long career to a close following the final round of the 2026 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Brands Hatch on Sunday. Having spent three decades covering motorsport, she leaves behind a career that took her from Formula 1’s pit lanes to the heart of British touring car racing.
Brundle praised Goodman for her contribution to the sport and the opportunities she helped create for women, while Button recalled their shared memories from his early years in Formula 1. Rider, who retired from broadcasting in 2025, described her departure as the end of an era, as quoted by Planet F1.
