Promote Breastfeeding

Promote Breastfeeding

When a newborn baby sees the light of day, he/she first needs breastfeeding, which serves as nectar for lifelong health. The mothers of newborns produce a protein-rich, thick liquid called colostrum. This acts as a natural vaccine against all common childhood illnesses. The newborns must be breastfed within the first hour of birth. Exclusive breastfeeding should continue for the first six months. Within this period, the babies need no water or food. Studies have shown that breastfed children are intelligent and unlikely to develop diabetes later in life. Similarly, the breastfeeding mothers have little risk of catching breast and ovarian cancers. As both newborns and new mothers hugely benefit from breastfeeding, it should be promoted as the life-saving formula. This is because the life of every person starts as a baby, whose health carries significant importance in his/her later life.
