Province govt selects 11 community schools for STEAM Lab

KASKI: Gandaki Province government has decided to provide grants for the establishment and operation of STEAM laboratories at various 11 community schools in the province in a bid to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics education further practical and technology-friendly.

The Education Development Division under the Ministry of Social Development, Youth and Sports selected 11 schools from across the province in line with the annual programme endorsed for running the STEAM Labs targeting secondary education. The programme is included in the current fiscal year.

The schools were selected on Monday by evaluating the proposals they had submitted for the grant. The grant of Rs 400 thousand is awarded to each school, according to Division chief, Ghanashyam Poudel. Poudel added that total grant of Rs 4.4 million would be available for the 11 schools.
