Actress Rakul Preet Singh has spoken up on speculations related to the Income Tax Department’s inquiry concerning any possible financial discrepancies regarding movie funds abroad. Through the actress’s post on social media, she clarified that no raid was done concerning her. It is noted that the said incident occurred just days after raids were done at 12 places in Mumbai in relation to persons and companies associated with filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios.

Posting on Instagram on Monday, October 5, Rakul mentioned that she felt “heartbroken” seeing that there was an increasing tendency to sensationalize news without verifying facts. She expressed her disappointment regarding news and social media updates, which, as per her, have given a wrong perception about her connection with the case filed against her by the Income Tax authorities.
She also shared information about her background and how she comes from an Armed Forces family and started her career in films without any “Godfather.” She claims to have made it on her own and has always paid her taxes honestly since she turned 20.
