KASKI: The number of tourists visiting the world-renowned Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) has increased significantly in recent days following improved weather conditions and the restoration of road access. The influx of visitors follows the reopening of roads that were previously blocked by floods and landslides.
Tourism entrepreneurs noted that the shift in tourist interest toward the Annapurna region is partly due to the disruption of trekking routes in the Manang and Manaslu areas. Dilip Gurung, secretary of the Chhomrong Tourism Management Committee, stated that approximately 300 tourists are reaching the base camp daily. The area has six hotels and lodges with a combined capacity of 350 guests. Gurung added that while domestic tourist numbers remain low, there has been a rise in visitors from foreign countries and SAARC nations.
