Kathmandu, Oct 9: Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina, has informed that the government's plan to develop postal service into the government courier service is being implemented effectively by making it modern and citizen-friendly.
At a philatelic exhibition organised by the Department of Postal Service on the occasion of 152nd World Post Day, Minister Dr Timilsina mentioned that the government was committed to taking the postal service to the access of general people by restructuring it to suit citizens' needs.
Stating that it was necessary to link postal service with modern life by keeping its historic importance intact, the Minister underlined, "It holds a special historical value. We must change it into a modern, practical and citizen-centric service."
