Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Sunday (October 4, 2026) that Bhadohi district has been renamed as Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi. Speaking at an event in the district, Mr. Adityanath added, “Now Bhadohi district will be called Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi.”

The CM inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 112 projects worth over ₹1,340 crore. “On Guru Purnima, we had said that Bhadohi district, which is known for its carpet industry, would be named after Satguru Ravidas ji Maharaj, a medieval saint who united society through his spiritual devotion,” the U.P. CM said.
