Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tehran has already responded to a US proposal, describing it as similar to previous proposals.
According to the spokesperson, Washington’s latest offer focuses primarily on Iran’s nuclear programme. Tehran, however, wants any discussions to also address the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran also said the return of International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors was not discussed as part of the US proposal.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen until seven conditions agreed under a June interim understanding with the United States are fulfilled, according to Nournews.
Qalibaf said Washington had communicated proposals through a mediator but warned that Tehran would no longer accept delays or unilateral demands.
He said Iran’s position remains firm and that the strategically important waterway will remain closed until all seven conditions outlined under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding are met.
Tanker Incident Reported In Strait Of Hormuz
The UK Maritime Trade Operations said it received a report of an incident involving a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
The vessel reportedly came under attack by an unknown projectile, resulting in damage to its engine room. UKMTO said all crew members were safe.
