Iran has signalled that it is prepared to continue its military confrontation with the United States while keeping diplomatic channels open. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said Tehran would not be pressured by Washington’s actions and would use both military and diplomatic means to protect its interests.
Speaking in parliament on Sunday, Qalibaf said Iran was prepared for further developments on the battlefield while also pursuing negotiations through diplomatic channels.
What did Iran say about US actions?
Qalibaf said Tehran was “neither excited nor intimidated” by Washington’s moves and maintained that Iran was capable of responding militarily while continuing diplomatic efforts.
