US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that the conflict with Iran could end soon, while suggesting Washington retains control over when hostilities stop. His comments come amid stalled negotiations, economic uncertainty and growing domestic criticism over rising fuel costs.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump said the war would conclude whenever he decided to end it. He also predicted a sharp fall in oil prices and reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He said,”I will tell you, I think there’s a great thing happening, and the people will see what we’ve accomplished. It’s the golden age of America, and the Iran war will end very soon. It’s going to end very soon, as soon as I want it to end, it’ll end.”
