US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: The US-Israel-Iran war remained tense on Wednesday, October 7, as senior Israeli defence officials warned that Iran could potentially miscalculate and launch missiles at Israel amid growing US pressure and worsening economic conditions. At the same time, Tehran reiterated that it would not surrender what it considers its right to uranium enrichment, keeping one of the biggest obstacles to a possible US-Iran agreement unresolved.

The latest Iran war news also focused on the Strait of Hormuz, where Washington and Tehran offered competing assessments of control and shipping activity. Meanwhile, fighting involving Iran-aligned Houthi forces has intensified in Yemen, adding another potential front to the wider Middle East conflict.

The officials reportedly linked the concern to Iran’s deteriorating economic situation and the impact of US measures against the country. Military Intelligence Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder told ministers that the US maritime and air blockade was having a significant effect. He also said the United States had greater control of the Strait of Hormuz than Iran, according to the report.  Importantly, the assessment does not mean that Iran has announced plans for a missile attack. It reflects concerns expressed by Israeli officials about a possible escalation.

Israeli officials reportedly said the economic situation in Iran was continuing to deteriorate.

The Jerusalem Post reported that Israeli military officials told ministers that the maritime blockade was affecting Iran and that an air blockade introduced about two weeks earlier was increasing the effectiveness of the broader pressure campaign.

The officials reportedly described the situation as worsening each day.

The economic pressure has become an important component of the wider US strategy as Washington seeks concessions from Tehran over its nuclear programme.

Iran Says It Will Never Give Up Uranium Enrichment

Iran, however, has rejected a key US demand.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran would never give up what it considers its right to uranium enrichment. The official said recognition of that right was a red line for Iran. The official also said there had been no negotiations between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear programme.

According to the Iranian official, recent proposals discussed by US Vice President JD Vance represented American ideas and demands rather than the outcome of negotiations.
