Latino voters have swung dramatically away from Republican candidates ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections, with new polling from NBC News and Telemundo revealing a decisive 24-point Democratic advantage on Congressional control that represents a complete reversal of Republican gains established during the 2024 presidential election cycle.

The NBC News/Telemundo survey of 800 registered Latino voters, conducted between 21-28 September, found that 59 per cent favour Democratic control of Congress compared to merely 35 per cent supporting Republicans, double the Democratic edge documented at this juncture during 2024 election preparations.

The survey establishes that economic hardship, aggressive immigration enforcement, and widespread dissatisfaction with US President Donald Trump’s overall job performance have fundamentally restructured Latino political preferences merely one year after Trump captured record-high Latino support during his presidential victory.
