‘Gem Granites’ owner R. Veeramani (84), who has been arrested for sexually assaulting minor girls under the POCSO Act, was produced before a judicial magistrate of the Special POCSO Court in Chennai on Wednesday (October 7, 2026).
The case relates to a complaint alleging the sexual abuse of a minor girl in Madurai with a complaint filed in Madurai police jurisdiction.

The accused Veeramani was produced before the judicial magistrate S. Padma, who remanded him to judicial custody until October 21.
Veeramani, who has been arrested in several other cases by the Chennai City Police, was arrested by the Madurai police and the relevant case details were handed over to the court.
