NSE Nifty 50 increases by 144.85 points, or 0.65% to reach 22,376.65 in the beginning of the day’s trading, as reported by The Financial Express. Reuters goes ahead and reports Sensex and Nifty levels at 71,906.22 and 22,339.50 respectively as of 9:22 am IST, thus reflecting a partial correction in opening gains.
The latest gains come after yesterday’s heavy losses, as Sensex was down by 1,045.46 points to finish at 71,593.24 while Nifty 50 declined by 371.25 points to close at 22,231.80 on Thursday, October 8.

TCS Shares Jump After Q2 Results
TCS becomes one of the major market boosters during the early recovery phase by announcing its second-quarter earnings for the fiscal year 2026-27. The IT behemoth declares its net profit to be ₹13,884 crore with a growth of about 15% year on year, while the revenue from operations grows 11.22% to ₹73,188 crore.
The operating margins for the quarter for TCS stand at 24%. The results highlight the growth in foreign businesses and artificial intelligence revenues for the IT giant, providing impetus to the technology stocks.
According to Reuters, TCS stock rises 3.5% during the early trade on account of its results. However, its performance aids the entire IT sector while keeping in view the prospects of growth and profits of the firm.
