15 bodies recovered from Himlung Base Camp

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct. 3: Fifteen bodies have been recovered and identified from the Himlung Himal Base Camp following a search and recovery operation by the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) team. However, Pasang Nuri Sherpa remains missing.

According to a Facebook post by NNMGA, the team has completed the second phase of the search and recovery operation despite extreme mountain conditions and more than 14 feet of snow.

The recovered individuals have been identified as Cheebi Bhote, Pasang Bhote, Birendra Gurung, Ghan Shyam Rai, Birkha Dhoj Tamang, Jagat Tamang, Kalam Buda, Lak Kumar Rai, Ngima Dorje Tamang, Santa Bir Tamang, Suraj Rai, Urkha Dhoj Bohara, Prem Tamang, Kirte Sherpa and Ash Gurung.
