KATHMANDU: Seven hundred and eighty-eight individuals have taken permits for climbing 31 mountain peaks in this autumn.

According to information provided by the Department of Tourism, a total of 788 climbers in 91 teams have obtained permission to climb various mountains in Nepal in the autumn of 2026.

Suraj Ghimire, information officer at the Department, said that 582 men and 206 women have obtained climbing permits for 31 Himalayan peaks.

The department has collected Rs 247 million 207 thousand and 601 in royalties from climbers.

Among the mountains for which climbing permits have been issued, highest number of climbers has taken permit to climb Mt Manaslu (8,163 meters). Five hundred climbers from 43 teams have taken permits for climbing this peak.
