Kathmandu, Oct. 5: The Hetauda-Dhalkebar 400kV transmission line, which remained stalled for a decade, is expected to come into operation immediately after the Dashain festival.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha inspected the Hetauda-Dhalkebar 400kV substation and received a briefing on the construction progress of the two remaining multi-circuit towers.
During the inspection, he directed the concerned officials to complete the tower construction within the stipulated time, saying the completion of the transmission line would make the country's power system more balanced and reliable.
Minister Shrestha had initiated the process through a Cabinet decision to resume the work on the Hetauda-Dhalkebar 400kV transmission line, which had remained stalled for around 12 years.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha said 14 of the 16 towers required for the section had already been completed, while work on the remaining two multi-circuit towers had reached the final stage.
