The trailer of Rajinikanth’s much awaited Jailer 2 is finally here and it has given fans a first extended look at what Nelson Dilipkumar has planned for the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster. The film brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, but this time the retired jailer appears to be facing a much bigger network of enemies.

Scheduled to release worldwide on October 15, Jailer 2 brings back several familiar faces while adding actors including Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Mithun Chakraborty. The trailer also confirms glimpses of returning stars Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, while Jackie Shroff gets a brief appearance.

What Happens In The Jailer 2 Trailer?

The trailer begins with Suraj Venjaramoodu’s character, Dileep, trying to track down Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The mysterious man they are looking for is none other than Rajinikanth’s character, who is now living away from his former life and working as a driver.

But Muthuvel has not simply retired. The trailer reveals that he has been investigating the larger syndicate connected to the idol smuggling operation he brought down in the first film. The people behind that network now appear to be looking for Tiger, turning him from the hunter into the hunted.

The trailer keeps much of the actual story under wraps, but it is clear that Muthuvel will once again have to return to his old ways. The action includes gunfights, hand to hand combat and several mass moments built around Rajinikanth’s return as Tiger.

Who Are The New Villains In Jailer 2?

S. J. Suryah appears to be one of the key antagonists in the sequel. His character, Bodhi Kalpak, seems to be connected to the larger syndicate that Muthuvel is investigating.
