By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, Oct. 7: The Banke District Police Office has implemented a special security plan targeting the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals, deploying more than 1,000 police personnel across the district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Angur GC, Chief of the Banke District Police Office, said the special security plan was introduced to prevent possible disturbances and criminal activities during the festive period and to ensure the safe passage of Nepalis returning home from India.
More than 1,000 Nepal Police personnel have been mobilised for festive security, SP GC said, adding that additional personnel would be deployed from the police battalion if necessary.
According to GC, mobile and foot patrols have been intensified in Nepalgunj, Kohalpur and other areas to control theft, robbery and other criminal activities.
