Two police personnel from India have been detained by Nepal Police after allegedly entering Nepali territory without prior coordination while attempting to arrest a Nepali citizen in Kanchanpur.
The two officers, reportedly from Karnataka Police, were taken into custody by police at the Area Police Office in Dodhara Chandani on Saturday afternoon.
According to Kanchanpur police, the Indian officers had travelled to Dodhara Chandani and reached the residence of local resident Shankar Lohar, reportedly intending to arrest him.
Police intervened after receiving information that the officers had entered Nepal without permission and were attempting to take a Nepali citizen into custody.
