Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, head of Iran’s National Cyberspace Center, made the claim in comments quoted by AFP. He did not provide details on how the terminals were allegedly disabled.

Starlink had been used as an alternative source of internet connectivity during restrictions imposed in Iran. Experts had previously said Iranian authorities were capable of jamming Starlink signals. Users possessing Starlink equipment also reportedly faced the risk of arrest.

The agency identified the men as Alireza Sepahi and Alireza Raeisi. Mizan said they had been sentenced to death on several charges, including membership in an armed rebel group, “waging war against God,” corruption on earth and incitement to violence.
