Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group on Monday claimed it launched attacks targeting two Saudi airports, an Aramco facility and several military sites, as fighting between Houthi forces and Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces intensified.

According to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, the group used ballistic and cruise missiles and drones in three operations targeting sites across Saudi Arabia. The claims had not been independently verified, and Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the reported airport strikes.

Houthis Claim Attacks On Two Saudi Airports

The Houthis said the first operation targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, claiming the strike hit its target and disrupted air traffic.

The group also claimed that another operation targeted Abha Airport in southern Saudi Arabia, along with military installations in Khamis Mushait and other sites in the region.

The reported attacks came as Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces launched a major offensive against the Houthis around the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

Houthi Strikes Target Saudi Oil And Military Sites

The Houthi group also claimed responsibility for an attack on an Aramco refinery in Rabigh, in Saudi Arabia’s Mecca region.
