A second season has not been officially confirmed yet. HBO and DC Studios have not announced a Season 2 renewal. However, the potential next chapter is already being discussed behind the scenes.

Lindelof, while speaking with Collider, confirmed that writers have begun ideating on Season 2, although he does not expect to return himself. A writers’ room has also reportedly been assembled under showrunner Chris Mundy, with Christopher Cantwell, Nakkiah Lui, Zack Whedon, Selwyn Seyfu Hinds and Vanessa Baden Kelly working on the potential second season.

Chris Mundy has also spoken positively about the possibility of continuing the series, while HBO has yet to make the final call.

Could Hal Jordan Return In Lanterns Season 2?

Hal Jordan is dead. The Season 1 finale reveals that Kerry Kane killed Hal after discovering the truth surrounding her son Noah. Noah initially takes responsibility for the murder to protect his mother, but John Stewart eventually uncovers what really happened. The creative team was very deliberate about not immediately undoing Hal’s death.

Lindelof explained that the writers did not want to pull a cheap twist by revealing that Hal was secretly a clone or that he was somehow “mostly dead.”
