KATHMANDU: A total of 39 people have died due to electrocution in Madhesh province during the first two months of the current fiscal year. According to the Madhesh Province Police Office, 107 incidents related to electric shocks were recorded throughout the region during the months of Shrawan and Bhadra.
Police stated that the rise in accidents is attributed to a lack of safety precautions while handling electrical wiring, operating household appliances, and using water pumps for irrigation. During this period, 92 people lost their lives across 459 various disaster incidents in the province, including 47 men, 19 women, and 26 children. Electrocution remains the leading cause of death among these incidents.
