By Rajan Rawat,Humla, Oct. 7: Women in the Himalayan districts continue to process dhantelo using traditional skills.
Despite the crop being produced in large quantities, the lack of modern equipment for harvesting and processing means women still have to carry out everything by hand, from picking the fruit to extracting the seeds.
Although new technologies have been introduced in many areas, in Humla and other Himalayan districts, women still use traditional methods to harvest ripe dhantelo, wash the fruit and remove the seeds.
Matiyu Rokaya of Simkot Rural Municipality-5 said that the work continues to be done manually.
