Kathmandu, Oct. 8: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has invited proposals from partner organisations willing to construct transitional shelters for families displaced by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the Authority asked interested organisations to propose the construction of transitional shelters for affected households in the three districts in accordance with standards approved by the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction.

The organisations have been asked to clearly state the number of shelters they intend to build, proposed locations and the names of the concerned local levels. They must also submit a work plan specifying the expected date for starting construction and the deadline for completion, according to NDRRMA Spokesperson and Under Secretary Shanti Mahat.

Organisations that have already entered into agreements to construct transitional shelters in the flood-affected areas must also provide details of such agreements, according to the notice.
