High-capacity floodlights at Nepalgunj Stadium

SIRAJ KHAN, Nepalgunj, Oct. 7: A high-capacity lighting system (floodlights) is being installed at Nepalgunj Stadium, the largest stadium in Western Nepal.

The government is upgrading the stadium with floodlights as part of a plan to foster professional sports and host night-time competitions in major cities.

Once the floodlights are installed, it is expected that conducting sports activities at night will become easier, thereby boosting sports tourism.

Mahesh Chand, Chief of the Nepalgunj office of the former Mid-Western Sports Development Committee, stated that the installation of high-capacity floodlights was included in the agreement between the Ministry responsible for infrastructure development and the National Sports Council (NSC) regarding the construction and upgrading of sports facilities.
