Int'l tourist arrivals up by 12%

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct. 2: International visitor arrivals in Nepal increased significantly in September this year. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), a total of 88,248 international visitors entered Nepal in September 2026. 

This is 12.1 per cent higher than the number of tourist arrivals recorded in the same month last year. Nepal received 78,711 international visitors in September 2025. 

However, tourist arrivals were higher in September 2024, when Nepal received 96,302 international visitors. The September arrivals this year represented about 95 per cent recovery of the pre-pandemic level recorded in September 2019, when 92,604 international visitors entered Nepal.

Despite floods and landslides reported in different parts of the country, tourist arrivals increased in September compared to August. Nepal received 85,444 international visitors in August 2026.
