By Guna Bahadur Roka, Gorkha (Sulikot), Oct. 6: Repair and maintenance work has been stepped up on the Manaslu trekking trail, which was damaged by floods and landslides during the monsoon.
As the tourist season has begun with the end of heavy rainfall, repair work has been accelerated to ensure smooth operation of the trekking route.
According to Nima Lama, chairperson of Chumnubri Rural Municipality, repairs are being carried out along different sections of the trail in coordination with hydropower companies, the Nepali Army, the rural municipality, ward offices, the Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) and hotel entrepreneurs’ sub-committee.
“Hydropower companies are carrying out repair work along some sections of the Benighat-Larke road in northern Gorkha. The Nepali Army and the rural municipality are working on other sections,” said Lama.
