Sean Strickland’s frustration with the UFC has escalated into a serious question over his future with the promotion. The reigning UFC middleweight champion has openly discussed giving up his 185-pound title, moving to light heavyweight and finishing his current UFC contract before pursuing a potentially lucrative boxing match with Jake Paul.
Strickland’s comments came after his next title defence fell through amid a reported pay dispute with the UFC. On Wednesday, he took to X to explain why he is considering an alternative route.
“I gotta be honest unless things change with the UFC Im kinda over it. McGregor makes 30 million to fight for 30 second and they dont want to pay us a fraction of it,” Strickland wrote.
