Tourists flock to Birendra Lake in Gorkha

By Guna Bahadur Roka, Gorkha (Sulikot), Oct. 7 : Birendra Lake in Samagaun of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1 in northern Gorkha has recently become a major attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists. 

The lake, surrounded by the Himalayan landscape, crystal-clear blue water, snow-capped mountains and natural beauty, has been drawing increasing numbers of visitors.

Located at an altitude of more than 3,600 metres above sea level, Birendra Lake has become an important destination for tourists visiting Samagaun. 

According to Chumnubri Rural Municipality, the number of Nepali tourists visiting the area has also increased in recent years, alongside foreign tourists who come for trekking in the Manaslu region.
