Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran has introduced a “new arrangement” to manage the country’s current situation, while insisting that US-led economic pressure has not delivered the results sought by its opponents.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said the government had taken steps with public support to keep the country’s economy functioning despite mounting external pressure. He did not explain what the new arrangement would entail.
What did Pezeshkian say about Iran’s economy?
Pezeshkian accused Iran’s adversaries of attempting to weaken the country by targeting its economic lifelines. He said the government had worked with the public to prevent those efforts from achieving their intended outcome, arguing that the economic campaign against Tehran had not succeeded in forcing Iran to its knees.
